MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Membership in the American Legion Auxiliary is limited to the mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and grandmothers of members of The American Legion, and to the mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and grandmothers of all men and women who were in the Armed Forces of the US during any of the qualifying periods.

A copy of the veteran’s DD214 or other discharge paper or an obituary notice stating their term of service is required.

TROOP BOXES

TYPICAN NEEDS OF OUR TROOPS . . . any donations will be appreciated.  You may drop them off in the boxes in the lobby by the office.

PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS:

• antibacterial wipes, huggies
• small tubes of toothpaste
• toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, shampoo
• eye drops (cleaning kind because of the sand storms)
• small containers of Tylenol, Motrin, etc.
• band aids
• cough lozenges
• shower to shower powder
• anti-fungal for feet, athletes foot cream, foot powder (no aerosol bottles)
• combs, paper, pens, envelopes
• lip balm, q-tips, nail clippers
• flip flops or sandels (so they can air their feet out when they get a chance)
• schrunchies
• lip balm
• hand sanitizer

FOOD ITEMS

• breakfast type foods and drinks
• instant & regular coffee
• hot chocolate packets (add to water)
• Campbell’s chunky soups, chicken, beef, etc.
• canned tuna
• canned fruit
• beef jerky, Slim Jims
• canned nuts, chips, etc
• Granola bars, etc
• pre-sweetened powdered drinks, Kool-aid, Gatorade, etc.
• cookies (FACTORY PACKAGED ONLY – NO HOME MADE)

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS

• beanie baby toys for soldiers to give to kids
• comics & paperback books, crossword puzzle books
• AA batteries
• Deet insect spray
• disposable cameras
• games, music CD;s
• small or inflatable pillows, self-inflating air mattresses
• magazines, games, etc.
• flashlight (small, black or dark green) with AA battery
